Nvidia just revealed their new, affordable supercomputer. Announced on May 15, 2025, the Jetson Orin Nano Super Developer kit was designed to enable powerful AI applications in a compact, low-power environment. While for many this might seem like just another simple PC expansion, it’s far more than that, so stay tuned!
This new gadget, priced at an incredibly low $249, features a 6 core 64 bit Arm Cortex processor running at 1.7GHz, 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and delivers up to 67 INT8 TOPS of AI performance, offering an affordable AI supercomputer capable of real time AI processing and enhanced multitasking. The NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano Super Kit comes with a ready-to-use Linux system, allowing you to jump straight into development—for about the price of a mid-range dinner date. It supports a wide range of external peripherals, including multiple USB ports, and up to four camera inputs, making it ideal for stereovision, depth mapping, or multi-camera industrial inspection systems.
And here’s the real catch: the board, with a compact footprint of just 100mm by 80mm, fits effortlessly into any device—whether it’s a robot, drone, kiosk, or smart gadget. Furthermore, it runs powerful AI software directly—such as DeepStream, TensorRT, and JetPack—and offers native integration with NVIDIA’s AI and vision tools, and Omniverse Replicator, enabling the board to function as a real-time AI assistant. In the right hands, this board can be used to develop and integrate custom AI systems. It’s ideal for generative AI at the edge, real-time robotics, and industrial computer vision applications—powering everything from smart city infrastructure to autonomous navigation.
You power it up, hook it to a display (HDMI), keyboard, and mouse if you want—just like a regular PC—but it’s meant for embedded applications, meaning it lives inside the thing you’re building. It can also run headless (no screen), just processing data from sensors or cameras. The Jetson Orin Nano sees and processes video in real time using connected cameras and sensors. With the right software, it can perform tasks like face detection and even understand multiple languages—making this board a true technological marvel. Furthermore, it can operate software, control motors, and interact with machines—enabling your creation to follow you, complete tasks like sending emails, answering questions, or act as a mounted assistant ready to handle anything through its connected peripherals. The functions of rapidly advancing AI are virtually limitless, offering an incredibly powerful platform for innovation automation and intelligent interactions. The kit is designed for AI developers, students, and research startups working on cutting-edge AI, computer vision systems, and generative AI applications.
