The Chronovisor
In the mid 20th century, allegedly the Vatican has commissioned a mixed team of scientists and pastors to secretly develope a machine that has capabilities beyond science fiction. This purported device had the capability to capture past events and display it using a sort of holographic display. This enigmatic contraption allegedly invented by a Benedicte monk, named Father Pellegrino Ernetti, has become a stable of fringe history and paranormal discussions.
A Journey into the Realm of Pseudohistory
The Chronovisor is a purported device that was allegedly created in the mid-20th century. It is claimed to be able to “see” past events, much like a television tuned to history. An interdisciplinary team within the Vatican’s facility, was alleged to have harnessed advanced physics and electronics to create a machine that could capture and electromagnetic radiation emitted by past events. This radiation, he believed, could be manipulated to reconstruct images and sounds from the past.
The origins of the chronovision
The Chronovisor was said to be invented by a renowned musicologist and exorcist Father Pellegrino Ernetti. This ortodox machine first gained attraction in the 1970s through the book published by Father François Brune “Le Nouveau Mystère du Vatican” (The New Mystery of the Vatican). Brunette claimed that Ernetti had confided in him about a secret project under the auspices of the Vatican that involve the development of a revolutionary device. According to the book, Ernetti along with a team of twelve scientists -Including Nobel Laureates, Ernico Fermi and Wernher Von Braun– worked secretly on the Chronovisor.
The Alleged Functionalities:
The Chronovisor, according to Brune, was purportedly capable of detecting and recording the electromagnetic waves emitted by past events, effectively “capturing” historical occurrences. The captured data was then processed and displayed as holographic images and sounds, allowing the observers to witness historical events, such as the Crucifixion of Jesus. The device was claimed to provide a “window” to the past enabling users to observe significant historical events.

Notable Alleged Observations:
Ernetti claimed to have reportedly used the Chronovisor to witness several significant historical events.
- The Crucifixion of Jesus Christ: This claim, if true, would have profound religious and historical implications.
- Speeches by Roman Dignitaries: Ernetti allegedly observed speeches by prominent figures in ancient Rome.
- Other Historical Events: The device was purportedly used to observe various other historical occurrences, though specific details are often vague and unsubstantiated.
Vatican‘s response for the allegations
The Vatican is well known for its extensive archives and it’s discretion in handling information that could influence the public in any way. Vatican remained silently in regards to the Chronovisor which has only served as further fuel to the theories. The Vatican has never acknowledged the existence of the Chronovisor, nor have they released any information regarding it, however there has been multiple individuals within the facility of the Vatican who reported they have personally witnessed the Chronovisor . Some believes the information might have been suppressed to protect religious doctrine or to maintain control over historical narratives. The secrecy surrounding the Vatican and the enigmatic nature of the Chronovisor claims, has fueled speculation that they might be concealing knowledge about the device

Scientific Scrutiny and Criticism:
The scientific community has dismissed the possibility of the existence of the Chronovisor as a pseudoscientific concept. The very idea of “capturing” electromagnetic radiation from the past believed to violated the fundamental laws of physics, particularly the second law of thermodynamics. Despite decades of speculations there has been no concrete evidence presented yet to support the existence or the functionality of the Chronovisor.
The Chronovisor in Popular Culture:
Despite the lack of scientific validity, the Chronovisor has captured the imagination of many. It has become a recurring theme in various forms of media, including:
- Books and Novels: Numerous books and novels have explored the concept of a device that can “see” the past, often drawing inspiration from the Chronovisor legend.
- Television and Film: The Chronovisor has been referenced in various television shows and movies, often as a plot device or a source of intrigue.
- Conspiracy Theories: The Chronovisor has become a staple of conspiracy theories, often intertwined with other fringe beliefs and secret societies.
The Chronovisor remains a fascinating but ultimately unproven concept. While the idea of witnessing historical events firsthand is undeniably captivating, the scientific evidence overwhelmingly suggests that it is a product of fiction and speculation.
Disclaimer: The information presented here is based on available information and should be considered with a degree of skepticism. The Chronovisor remains firmly in the realm of speculative history and pseudoscience. By critically examining the available evidence and understanding the limitations of current scientific knowledge, we can appreciate the Chronovisor as a fascinating example of the human desire to explore the unknown and the power of imagination.
