Kawasaki Heavy Industries has once again demonstrated their technological prowess and innovative capabilities by announcing their plan to showcase showcase CORLEO on the upcoming Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025. The hydrogen powered mount is a quadruped vehicle, engineered specifically to enhance the versatility of modern transportation while relying on sustainable green energy.
The potential applications of Kawasaki CORLEO stretches well beyond currently commercialised vehicles. While the robotic mount is still only a concept proposed by the industry giant, its implications exceed regular recreational use and entertainment. CORLEO offers a wide range of features, designed to meet diverse operational needs such as military scouting and rescue operations in uneven, often dangerous terrain. Although the maximum speed has not yet been publicly disclosed, the potential of a swift vehicle, capable of transporting operators across uneven and hazardous terrain could revolutionize modern transportation and fulfill long-standing demands.
CORLEO also highlights the collective efforts to humanize robotics by creating machines that respond to natural human movement, creating a new kind of interactive experience.

The hydrogen combustion engine, generates electricity, and drives the actuators in each limb individually. While promoting sustainable, clean transportation, CORLEO‘s vast capabilities have the potential to replace ATVs or combustion-powered utility vehicles.

CORLEO, is a conceptual mobility robot, designed to resemble a quadruped animal- combining eco-conscious engineering with robotic locomotion. The vehicle showcases Kawasaki‘s ambition to redefine personal transportation and potential in technological innovations.
The robotic mount, uses four independent robotic limbs, enabling it to walk or even run across any type of landscape with ease, offering countless opportunities to explore alternative terrain navigation. Unlike other wheeled vehicles, CORLEO mimics a biological quadruped, and each leg moves independently using multi-joint actuators to ensure enhanced maneuverability and stability. The rider have direct influence on the direction and the balance of the vehicle by shifting their bodyweight, just like on a motorcycle. Furthermore, a heads-up display provides visual real-time data on the fuel level, navigation and even balance and weight distribution stats, and its head features integrated LED lights that act like “eyes” satisfying both aesthetic and sensory requirements. The body, is made out of carbon, and the overall shape is compact and ideal for futuristic urban or off-road mobility.
With its multitude of functionalities and futuristic design, CORLEO truly stands out as a technological marvel.

While it is still a conceptual prototype, and detailed investor information is not yet publicly disclosed, Kawasaki is already receiving R&D backing from Japanese government tech initiatives and private sector industrial partners, this project have the potential to attract further funding from sustainable transportation initiatives as hydrogen mobility expands. Corleo demonstrates remarkable progress in bipedal/quadrupedal robotics while integrating sustainable and clean hydrogen energy.
Kawasaki‘s latest invention opens discussion around robotic animals, and could inspire public acceptance of robotic transportation. As of April, 2025 , no data is available regarding a potential release date, however the Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025 might shed light on unexpected developments.
