CEO of Facebook and Meta platforms Zuckerberg , have increased his media relevance by appearing in numerous podcasts in the past year, but there was one, that has captivated the audience the most.
Mark has joined entrepreneur Joe Rogan on his popular podcast called “Joe Rogan Experience”. The podcast showcases controversial theories alongside numerous guests that Joe invites, and discusses mind blowing theories, scientific facts and even historical speculations among other interesting well known or political topics. However in this particular episode Mark has revealed some information that has long been buried from and denied by the public, lets dive in!

CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckemberg has revealed that during the massive COVID-19 pandemic, the Biden administration has exerted significant pressure on Facebook to censor certain content or even permanently delete posts related related to COVID-19 vaccines. Mark starts by explaining that since the upcoming of the 2018 US election, and the confirmation of Brexit Facebook has faced a massive institutional pressure to censor contents on ideological beliefs.

Following the podcast, Joe and Mark has discussed how these government associates of the Biden Administration have become fixated on taking down every post that would suggest any possible side effect of the COVID-19 vaccines, and were deliberately contacting and threatening the Director Board.

These individuals would call up our Directors, shouting and cussing out the staff, and threatening the organization to take down certain posts, even simple satires

Reflecting on the experience Zuckemberg also conveyed regret for not being more unspoken against this government pressure that Meta has experienced when it comes to content moderation and censoring information regarding COVID-19.

Mark has emphasized that the initiative to remove specific posts involving the pandemic and vaccines were indeed nonpartisan and has seriously damaged the public’s right to free speech. He also acknowledged that some individuals perceived these actions as favoring political party over free speech and information.
The CEO has also explained that today he would not make the same decision, it was a learning curve that is inevitable to set content moderation in the right direction. He reiterated his commitment to maintaining neutrality and indicated that Meta would not engage in similar content moderation efforts in the future.
Moving forward, Zuckerberg emphasized Meta’s dedication to resisting external pressures and upholding the platform’s commitment to free speech.

This new revelation has sparked immense amount of debate over the role of governments in regulating content and their right to do so on social media platforms, especially when it comes to health related information. Critics argued that the deliberate governmental pressure to censure certain content infringes upon free speech rights, and sets a concerning path towards a seemingly authoritarian future.
In response, Zuckemberg has vowed that they will resist any future attempts from governments associates pushing political agenda to alter the content moderation on Meta platforms, and with a newfound power the organization will be focusing on protecting free speech and the authority of the public without any interference from governmental institutions.
